Christmas on the Square - December 12

The Burnet County Courthouse has a new Christmas lighting look!  Come visit this holiday season and see the "dripping" icicles and candlestick lampposts.  Burnet, Texas is getting ready to celebrate the annual Christmas on the Square on Saturday, December 12. There will be performances by local entertainers such as the Burnet Gunfighters, a Christmas parade around the square, shops and restaurants open late, a visit from Santa, Main Street Bethlehem, and an old fashioned Fort Croghan Christmas.

Rifles, Racks, and Deer Tracks Fundraiser - October 17, 2015

The Hill Country Children's Advocacy Center is holding a fundraiser at the Freedom Flyers Hangar in Burnet, Texas.  On Saturday, October 17, 2015 from 6 pm - 10 pm, the HCCAC will host its second annual event.  Proceeds from the dinner, raffle, and silent auction will go towards this very worthy cause. 

Information from the Advocacy Center website at hccac.org lists a Polaris ATV and guns available for the raffle ticket price of $20 each.  The ticket prices for the dinner (including live music) are 40 per person.

Fort Croghan Day - October 10, 2015

Revisit the beginning days of Burnet, Texas at the Fort Croghan historical grounds and museum.  From 9 am to 4 pm on Saturday, October 10, 2015, you will be able to walk through history with soldiers, Native Americans, frontier folk, and old west gunfighters.   Some of the fun will include making soap, churning butter, and blacksmithing demonstrations.  There will be some present-century entertainment, too!   Admission is FREE, but donations are accepted and appreciated.

Map Your Way to Burnet Art Fest - September 19-20, 2015

The second annual Burnet Association of Merchants Plein Air Art Competition is this weekend in downtown Burnet, Texas!  Artists are competing "in the open air," art will be auctioned, and other art booths and activities will be going on around the courthouse square. Summer Concert - Whiskey Myers - July 25

Burnet, Texas is presenting its summer live music Concerts in the Park again this year. Coming up on July 25, 2015 is Whiskey Myers.  Fans of Whiskey Myers know them for their country music and videos such as  "Early Morning Shakes" and "Shelter from the Rain."  

The concert will be on west Hwy 29 at Haley Nelson Park at 7:30 p.m..  Ticket prices are $15  per person; coolers are welcome, lawn chairs are encouraged for seating.

Texas Tealicious on Main Street hosts live music on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 6 - 8 pm.  On Saturday, January 24, they will feature Bill Reid who plays a variety of country, blues, and folk (among other genres!).

Barbecue and Chili Cookoff January 16 - 17

There are two cookoff events scheduled for the Burnet area this weekend.

On January 16 and 17, 2015, The Lone Star Barbecue Society is hosting their Cooker of the Year cookoff at the Burnet County Fairgrounds. No membership is required and entry fee for meat is $85. Pilot Knob Winery is hosting a chili cookoff on Saturday, January 17, 2015.
